OPTIMIZING YOUR LIFE'S STOCK PORTFOLIO

‎THE INVISIBLE RULE BOOK OF CULTURE

‎Everyone desires success in life but for many people, success is mostly a vague concept that they cannot clearly define. For most people, our definition of success is determined by the opinion of others.

‎UNTIL YOU STOP MEASURING YOUR LIFE BY THE OPINION OF OTHERS, YOU WILL NEVER TRULY BE FREE!

‎There are certain parameters that the world uses to measure success

  • ‎Finance & Possessions
  • ‎Power & Position
  • ‎Career
  • ‎Influence & Popularity

‎The degree to which you have one of the above is the degree to which the world acknowledges your success. However, the flaw in this system of measuring success is that:

‎1) It is based on comparison and competition with others (This promotes envy, jealousy, selfishness and perpetual dissatisfaction)

‎2) It hardly gives any place for originality or authenticity (This kills vision, creativity, individuality and purposeful living)

‎Having the above is good and should be desired, however, it should not cloud you from the things that truly matter! Most people only get to discover the people & things that truly matter on their death bed- Family, Righteousness, Health, Eternal life... (Matt 7:7)

‎True success is simply living a life that is in alignment with God's will for your life.

‎Simply put, God's will is that you live for his pleasure and make the best of all that you have... That includes every area of your life, namely:

‎1. Spirituality

‎2. Health

‎3. Family and Relationships

‎4. Ministry and Societal Impact

‎5. Finances

‎6. Career

‎7. Personality

‎This is YOUR LIFE'S STOCK PORTFOLIO

‎Just like a Financial investment Portfolio, your life is also a composite of various aspects (being referred to in this article as portfolios) and everyone one of them is worth investing in. You will need to invest adequately in every area to maximize your life, your productivity and your results. So, take a look at all the areas once again... Are you adequately investing in every area?

‎Scripture puts it this way:

‎Eccl.11.1 - Cast thy bread upon the waters: for thou shalt find it after many days.

‎Eccl.11.2 - Give a portion to seven, and also to eight; for thou knowest not what evil shall be upon the earth. KJV

‎.......

‎One mistake most people make is investing in only one (e.g. Spirituality/Finance/Career) or a few areas of life while neglecting the rest. This is one reason why their success becomes elusive, limited, or short-lived. Also, if your desire is not only success but also living a balanced life, then you definitely need to invest in all the areas.

‎If you are familiar with financial investments, you will understand the importance of having a diversified investment portfolio. An investor does not put all their resources into a single investment because there is no guarantee that every investment will perform well. One investment may yield significant returns while another may yield little or nothing. When one asset is underperforming, the returns from another can help sustain the investor. Diversification therefore provides balance, spreads risk, and increases the likelihood that the overall portfolio remains productive—even when some investments do not perform as expected. After all, you never know with certainty which investment will become the most profitable.

‎The same principle applies to life. You cannot afford to invest heavily in only one or two areas of your life while completely neglecting the others. Your life is a portfolio, and your Spirituality, Health, Family/Relationships, Ministry/Impact, Finances, Career, and Personality are all valuable assets within that portfolio. You may be doing exceptionally well financially while your relationships are deteriorating. Your career may be thriving while your health is declining. Your ministry may be flourishing while your personal character is being neglected. You can achieve public success while privately struggling with your identity, relationships, or emotional wellbeing. And when one area eventually becomes unstable, the neglected areas may leave you without the strength, support, or capacity to sustain your overall wellbeing.

‎LIFE IS LIKE A MEAL- Just like a single ingredient cannot satisfy you, you will need a wide range of ingredients in optimized condition to enjoy fulfillment in life.

‎This is why every area of your life deserves intentional investment. You may not know which area will become the greatest source of influence, fulfilment, opportunity, or impact in the future. By investing consistently across your entire life portfolio, you create a more balanced, resilient, and sustainable life—one in which success in one area does not have to come at the expense of another.

‎What is the value of winning in one area if the cost is losing in another? True success is not simply about maximizing one area of life; it is about optimizing the whole portfolio. ‎This is why you must invest in all areas. Each area influences the others, and weakness in one can eventually undermine the strength of another.

‎Your finances can provide comfort, but they cannot build character for you. Your career can create opportunities, but it cannot automatically give you healthy relationships. Your ministry can give you influence, but it cannot substitute for physical and emotional wellbeing. Education can increase your knowledge, but it does not necessarily produce wisdom, discipline, or integrity.

‎You therefore cannot afford to be a one-dimensional success person. The goal is not to become perfect in every area overnight. The goal is to become intentional about every area, recognize where your portfolio is weak, understand what each area requires, and consistently invest the right resources into it. Just as neglected financial assets can lose value, neglected areas of life can depreciate. The question is not whether you are investing in your life. You are!

‎The real question is:

‎What are you investing in, what are you neglecting, and what is your portfolio becoming as a result?

‎This is the philosophy behind the LIFE STOCK PORTFOLIO INTENSIVE: to help you recognize every major asset in your life, assess its current condition, understand what it needs, and intentionally invest in it for sustainable, holistic growth.
